Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
How do I know if Summit is the right fit for my business or nonprofit?
Summit may be a good fit if decisions are getting harder, pressure keeps showing up in different parts of the business, or your current support is not helping you understand what needs attention next.
We work best with owners and leaders who want more than a task completed. They want clearer information, stronger structure, better rhythms, and a business that becomes easier to lead.
What does the first conversation look like?
The first conversation is not a sales pitch.
We listen, ask questions, and try to understand what is creating pressure, what feels unclear, and what decisions are getting harder to make. From there, we can help identify whether the next step is a specific service, broader support, or a better understanding of what needs attention first.
When should I reach out to Summit for help?
Reach out when effort alone is no longer enough.
That may be when your numbers are unclear, the same problems keep repeating, your team needs more structure, decisions are piling up, or the business has grown beyond the systems supporting it.
Services & Structure
Do I need to sign up for everything, or can I start with just one service?
You can start with one service.
Summit is built to meet the business where the need is most visible. Sometimes that starts with bookkeeping, payroll, CFO advisory, tax strategy, leadership development, strategy development, operations support, or business consulting. If that service reveals a larger need, we help you see it clearly and decide what makes sense next.
What industries or types of organizations do you work with?
Summit works with businesses and nonprofits that want practical, connected support.
We are often a good fit for organizations that have grown beyond informal systems, need stronger financial visibility, are trying to improve how decisions get made, or want leadership and operations to work with more discipline and alignment.
Differentiation
How is Summit different from a traditional bookkeeper or CPA firm?
A traditional bookkeeper or CPA firm may focus mainly on records, compliance, reporting, or tax work.
Those things matter. Summit can support important financial work too. The difference is that we connect financial support to the rest of the business so the work can help leaders understand what is happening, see what needs attention, and make stronger decisions.
How is Summit different from a typical business consultant?
Many consultants provide advice, recommendations, or a plan.
Summit is more practical and connected. We help owners and leaders connect financial information, operations, leadership, and strategy so progress is easier to understand, execute, and sustain.
Do you replace my current bookkeeper, CPA, or internal team?
Sometimes, but not always.
In some cases, Summit provides the service directly. In other cases, we work alongside existing providers or internal teams to strengthen the information, structure, and decision support around the business.
The goal is not to replace people unnecessarily. The goal is to make sure the support around the business is helping the business work better.
Commitment & Cost
Is there a long-term contract?
Not usually.
Most Summit engagements are shaped around the work that needs to be done, the support required, and the rhythm that makes sense for the business. We will explain the scope, expectations, and next steps before the work begins.
How much do your services cost?
It depends on the scope, complexity, and type of support needed.
Summit is not built to win on the lowest price. We aim to price our work fairly for the value, attention, and connected support required. The first conversation helps determine what kind of support makes sense before we discuss a specific scope or fee.
Philosophy
What does Summit mean by better decisions sooner?
Better decisions sooner means leaders have trustworthy information early enough, enough structure to understand what needs attention, and a rhythm that keeps decisions from waiting until pressure forces action.
The goal is not just to make decisions faster. The goal is to create better conditions so decisions can be made with more confidence.
What do clarity, structure, and rhythm mean?
Clarity helps leaders see what is happening.
Structure helps leaders know what needs attention and how the business should support the work.
Rhythm helps better decisions happen sooner and more consistently.
Together, they create better conditions for better decisions.
What does it mean to build a business that works better?Clarity helps leaders see what is happening.
A business that works better does not depend on constant reaction, guesswork, or one person carrying every decision.
It has clearer information, stronger systems, better leadership rhythms, and support that helps the organization move forward with more confidence.
Location & Availability
Do you only work with businesses in Daytona Beach or Dayton?
No. Summit has local roots in Florida and Ohio, with service-area pages for Daytona Beach, Volusia & Flagler and Dayton & Miami Valley. We also support clients outside those areas when the fit is right and the work can be handled effectively through remote advisory, financial, operational, or leadership support.
Can Summit help if my business is not local?
Possibly. If the way Summit thinks about clarity, structure, rhythm, and better decisions connects with what your business needs, it is worth starting a conversation. Some work is location-specific, but much of our advisory, financial, operational, and leadership support can be done remotely when the relationship and scope make sense.
